Technology
CFD Research performs early stage technology development including initial concept ideation, design & analysis, prototype fabrication, test & evaluation, and in some cases low rate production. Our onsite support services and knowledge of products provide real-world insight into challenges and needs that drive the evolution of technology solutions.
This work serves a multitude of government organizations including DoD, NASA and NIH as well as commercial companies looking to tap into our innovation focused mindset and workforce. Much of this innovative work is done via the Small Business Innovative Research (SBIR) and Small Business Technology Transfer (STTR) programs as well as Broad Agency Agreements (BAA), Rapid Innovation Fund (RIF), and Other Transaction Authority (OTA) contracts and agreements.

Services
CFD Research leverages our technology and product development capabilities to provide expert support to government customers as value added engineering and scientific services. Our experts work side-by-side with customers at their facilities and provide expert engineering and scientific research and development for programs of national interest.
CFD Research is a Prime Contractor for the US Army Contracting Command-Redstone Expedited Professional and Engineering Support Services (EXPRESS) Blanket Purchase Agreement and the Vertical Lift Technology Development (VLTD) contract for NASA. Other customers include the Centers for Disease Control (CDC), US Army Surgeon General, NASA Marshall Spaceflight Center, US Army Space and Missile Defense Command, and the Air Force 59th Medical Wing.

From special purpose engineering software tools to consumer products, we are constantly seeking transition and commercialization opportunities and have spun-out several companies and products.
CFD Research is proud to maintain a top 20% rating in the DoD’s Commercialization Achievement Index and to have generated over 75 patents.

The company was founded on modeling & simulation and develops software and test & evaluation tools for systems engineering and design efforts which often result in pioneering prototypes that solve technological challenges for government and commercial customers. Specialty capabilities include cyber & data sciences as well as drug discovery.
