Huntsville, Ala. September 20, 2016 – CFD Research Corporation today announced the planned succession of the Company’s senior executive leadership.
LtG (RET) Joe Cosumano, president and chief executive officer (CEO), will retire on September 20, 2016. Consistent with the Company’s succession plan, Sameer Singhal has been approved as the next president and chief executive officer. Mr. Singhal has been with the Company since 2008 and is currently serving as vice president and chief operating officer (COO).
LtG Cosumano, who has served as CEO for four years, will remain on the Company’s Board of Directors and continue to provide guidance and support to CFDRC’s leadership team and customers, particularly for various defense programs. “We are very grateful for Joe’s dedication and leadership for successfully building upon CFDRC’s core values and technology strengths” said Dr. Ashok Singhal, principal founder and chairman of CFDRC. “During his tenure, Joe contributed to the Company’s growth, including: the spin-out of SynVivo Inc.; formation of Federal Services Division which offers expert support services; and an internal Innovation Accelerator program to provide intrapreneurship opportunities for our talented and aspiring employees.” The Chairman added, “We expect the transition of Sameer Singhal to president & CEO to be seamless as Joe and the Board have been mentoring him for this position.”

Sameer Singhal – Biography
Sameer Singhal received his B.S. from Georgia Tech and M.S. from Stanford University both in Materials Science and Engineering. He worked for seven years at GaN semiconductor startup, Nitronex Corporation, where he helped develop early stage technology from white board concept all the way to a portfolio of seven products with commercial sales. At CFDRC, he has managed the technical development and commercialization for a portfolio of technologies, developed in collaboration with DoD, DOE, NIH, and NASA agencies. Specific technologies he has helped commercialize include CFDRC’s Bio-Battery™ and SynVivo® products. He is also leading development of CFDRC’s Thermal Battery technology for both defense and commercial applications. Mr. Singhal has over 30 publications in peer-reviewed journals and conference proceedings. Additionally he has six issued patents and additional ten patents pending.
