CFD Research Corporation (CFDRC) is working on wearable technology that can provide additional biological information that a Fitbit currently does not currently provide.
Using its sugar-powered Bio-Battery technology, this Huntsville company is developing sweat sensors that can provide potentially critical information on the real-time health of soldiers. The company has worked with the U.S. Air Force in hopes of further developing this technology.
“We are using it to monitor lactate levels in sweat a non-invasive manner,” says CFDRC senior research scientist Jenny Ulyanova, “Lactate is one of the biomarkers that can be used for determining things like dehydration or muscle fatigue.”
