CFDRC filed a patent application entitled “Integrated Microfluidic System Design Using Mixed Methodology Simulations.” The invention is a simulation-based method for rapidly designing, evaluating, and/or optimizing complex microfluidic systems and biochips. The method uses a software environment created by CFDRC that generates schematics, system layouts, problem setup, simulation, and post-processing.
The software’s system solver simulates processes including pressure driven and electroosmotic flows, electrophoretic separation, analyte dispersion, mixing of analytes, heat transfer, electric and magnetic fields, and biochemical reactions rapidly and iteratively for complete microsystems.
