(Huntsville, Ala.) For the past six years, CFD Research has championed its annual CFD Research-Liz Hurley Golf Classic, an event dedicated to supporting the technology needs of Huntsville Hospital’s Breast Center through the Huntsville Hospital Foundation and the Liz Hurley Breast Cancer Fund.
What started as a modest event with 20 teams raising $15,000 in its inaugural year has grown into a major success. This year, the tournament welcomed an impressive 47 teams, doubling participation compared to its early years, and raised over $40,000, surpassing its initial fundraising goal.
CFD Research President and CEO Sameer Singhal expressed gratitude for the overwhelming support, stating, “The generous support from our community allowed CFD to surpass our original goal of donating $35,000 to support the purchase of a new ultrasound machine for the Breast Center at Huntsville Hospital for Women and Children and an ultrasound table with specialty mattress.”
The additional funds will contribute to the Huntsville Hospital Foundation’s Breast Cancer Patient Experience project. This initiative aims to create a more inviting atmosphere by replacing traditional hospital gowns with warm, donor-funded robes, improving patient comfort while in the Breast Center.
The CFD Research-Liz Hurley Golf Classic stands as a testament to the company’s commitment to supporting its community. Through the years, the event has not only grown in scale but has also significantly contributed to enhancing diagnostic care and patient experiences at the Huntsville Hospital’s Breast Center. As CFD Research continues this impactful tradition, the community eagerly anticipates further milestones and positive contributions in the fight against breast cancer.
