(Huntsville, Ala. | July 19, 2022) CFD Research Corporation announced in April 2021 the opening of an office at Signal Hill in Dayton, OH, and the appointment of George Dalton as its Vice President of Dayton operations to support customers at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base (WPAFB). These customers include the National Air and Space Intelligence Center (NASIC), the Air Force Research Lab (AFRL), the Air Force Life Cycle Management Center (AFLCMC), and the Naval Medical Research Unit – Dayton (NAMRU-D), among others. CFD Research is a Huntsville, AL-based company with offices in Ft Walton Beach, FL, San Antonio, TX, Atlanta, GA, and now Dayton, OH.

In addition to the previously listed capabilities, CFD Research’s support to the WPAFB community also includes innovative hardware, software, and algorithms for GEOINT, MASINT, SIGINT, and cyber systems that operate in contested environments.
As Vice President of Dayton operations, Mr. Dalton leads these technology transition activities using 37 years of combined systems engineering and management experience. He brings 25 years of active duty and civil service experience in the Air Force, leading sophisticated engineering programs for air and space systems. In his first year since starting with CFD Research, Mr. Dalton has led the capture of the $42.6M Small Business Innovative Research (SBIR) Phase III contract from the Air Force to apply Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning (AI/ML) across a wide variety of sensor systems using the Sensor Open System Architecture (SOSA). He also captured the multiple-award indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract to compete for orders under a $950,000,000 ceiling for the maturation, demonstration, and proliferation of capability across platforms and domains, leveraging open systems design, modern software, and algorithm development in order to enable Joint All Domain Command and Control (JADC2). He is also rapidly growing the local Dayton workforce with the capture of six subcontracts for state-of-the-art R&D work in AI/ML, Sensor exploitation, open cloud-based architecture, and sensor integration for larger contractors supporting our customers in AFLCMC, AFRL, and NASIC.
Most recently, Dalton was the deputy director of Jacobs’ Innovative Aerospace Systems Division, where he oversaw both daily operations and the transition of new capabilities into the field, including the development of AgilePod® and the transitioning of Gotcha II technologies to space-based sensing. He previously led innovative and paradigm-changing efforts such as Blue Devil Block I, the Defense Enterprise Accounting and Management System (DEAMS), and Space Battle Management Core Systems (SBMCS). Dalton has a long history of growing organizations and creating new capabilities, and he brings a wealth of experience and energy to serve CFD Research’s customers.
