CFDRC has applied for a U.S. patent entitled “Method and Apparatus for Separating Particles by Dielectrophoresis” invented by CFDRC engineers/scientists Jianjun Feng, Guiren Wang, S. Krishnamoorthy, Kapil Pant, and Shankar Sundaram. The invention, also called the DEP Cell Sorter, has many applications including separating, sorting, and concentrating fluid suspensions of particles such as rare cell types. The invention was developed under an SBIR contract awarded by the Marine Corps Systems Command.
